Brian's 42nd Birthday
The 3 stages of our night out to celebrate Brian's birthday on March 18. Nothing says welcome to 42 like passing out at the bar.
Bordeaux and Paris
Just a couple of weeks after we got back from Sri Lanka, we had to make an impromptu run to Bordeaux, France on March 5 for business (more on that in a later post). Specifically, we went to Sainte Foy-La-Grande, Saint Emillion, and La Reole in the Gironde Department of the Aquitaine Region.
Even though our trip was a short 4 days in total, we had a day or two in Paris, which coincided with Paris Fashion Week. The Capital was a buzz with celebrities and beautiful people wearing the latest couture. We were a bit underdressed and lacking of any significance.
Our single mission in Paris was to check out the newly opened, Frank Gehry designed, Louis Vuitton Foundation contemporary art museum. The museum is located in the middle of the Bois de Boulogne park in the 16th Arrondissement.

R&R in Sri Lanka
Whenever we need a little rest and relaxation from our crazy lives, we hop a plane and head to our favorite hideaway in southern Sri Lanka. If memory serves, our trip back in February wasn't so much of a need, but rather a want and seeing as how we're not one to deny or deprive ourselves of our wants, we said, what the hell and jetted off.
It was pretty much lobster on the beach every night, massages in the late afternoon, plenty of naps, lots of Lion beer and GnTs, and well, just a lot of rest and relaxation. I'm not even sure we gathered up enough energy to read our books.

We're Back!
We had to take a break from the blog for the better part of the last 10 months. Life became just too full to focus on blogging and not actually living. So here we are, approaching summer and the start of the seasonal hibernation and we're back at it, bound and determined to catch up.
Take a moment to scroll through our latest posts and see what we've been up to.

The Great Abu Dhabi Scavenger Hunt
Our friend Susan organized an event to help raise funds for a charity very near and dear to our hearts. Animal Welfare Abu Dhabi helps all the stray animals around the city by providing medical care, food, vaccinations, sterilizations, and adoption services. It's a thankless, full time job, which costs lots of money to maintain. So in an effort of fostering assistance and financial aid, Susan developed a scavenger hunt that takes participants all around Abu Dhabi (with their mascots in tow) to look for answers to a series of clues that they're been given at the beginning of the event. Her friends were her test subjects last year and seeing as how we were last year's winners (shameless self promoting plug), we volunteered to help with the admin of this year's event on February 27, 2015.
Read more about it in Time Out Abu Dhabi.
We are so proud of all of Susan's hard work and are delighted to report that the event was a huge success. Please take a moment to Like her Facebook page and show your support for her efforts.
Christmas on Sir Baniyas Island
Having to work on Christmas sucks, so we decided to make the most of the holiday season in the Middle East by taking a few days and spending them on Sir Baniyas Island, west of Abu Dhabi, near the border with Saudi Arabia.
The weather was cold and windy, or at least as cold and windy as it gets in this part of the world, so the highlight of our trip was the safari around the island.
